The computer that im using isnt a new build or anything, I have been using it for at least 4 years now and the last time that I added a new piece of hardware was about 1-2 years ago when I added my Crucial M4 SSD drive as my primary hard drive.
About a week ago my computer started having issues with the sound, it started saying that it had software issues with the sound (im using onboard sound) and I could only hear sound from the left side of headphones (USB headphones and regular headphones like the ones you plug into a stereo). I didnt format back then because I still wasnt getting the reboots but today it started to reboot over and over, it even reboots when the computer is starting up.
I tried to format thinking it might be a software glitch or something since the system was working fine before but the computer even rebooted itself while windows was formatting itself. I guess that narrows down the problem to a hardware issue but my power supply is 1200 watts and im running this hardware:
- 1 Crucial SSD Drive
- 2 Western Digital Caviar Black 2 TB SATA III 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache Hard Drives
- 1 EVGA GeForce GTX470 1280 MB DDR5 PCI-Express 2.0 GFX Card
- Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P Motherboard
- 6GB OCZ Platinum DDR3 1600
- i7 920 CPU
- Vigor Monsoon III LT CPU Cooler
- 2 DVD-RW Drives
- 1 Floppy Drive
- Corsair Professional Series AX 1200 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Gold (AX1200) Power Supply
The power supply should be more than enough to power on the rig that I have, I have been using this power supply since 05/2011 (2 years).
What do you guys think could be causing my system issues?
