    fc-pga fc-pga2 question

I just bought an FC-PGA2 Intel Pentium III 1G mhz cpu.
My question : Is the pga2 backward compatible with pga?
Cuz i'm not able to run the pentium on my Abit VT6X4 V1.2 with VIA Apollo Pro 133A chipset.
could it be that my mobo is not compatible with pga2 ?

    cheers

p.s. erase the below thread. thx

The Apollo 133a is compatible with the pga2 but the socket on the mobo is probably what is not compatable with the pga2 processor.I have a Asus CUV4X with the 133a chipset but my pga2@1000 wont work in it because while it is a socket 370, 10 of the pins on the chip have different uses that the first socket 370 chips.I bought a TUV4X with a Apollo 133T chipset that is backward compatable with both 370 pin style chips. With this mobo I just set the FSB to 133 and fired it up without any problems using an Intel Retail fan.
If You Cant' Overclock It then Forget It!!!!!

After getting an email from the abit support ppl(it took two days for them to reply, not bad at all) saying that my mobo(Abit VT6X4)
doesn't support FC-PGA2, I've decide just to exchange it to AMD XP1700 retail and get a new mobo(Elite K7S5A) and 300w power supply.
God, the socket370 mobos are still as expensive as the new ones out there.

    cheers
