Sytem won't boot up Win95b
Not sure what I have done but when I turn my computer on this is the message I get:
A device file that is specified in the SYTEM.INI file is damaged. It may be needed to run WINDOWS.
You may need to run the WINDOWS SETUP program again. If the file is included in another software package, you may need to reinstall the software that uses the file.
C:\WINDOWS\system\VMM32\vwin32.VXD
That is what I get. It then says, Press any key to continue. When I press enter it gives me the same message except for the last line which is different now:
C:\WINDOWS\system\VMM32\vcond.VXD
C:\WINDOWS\system\VMM32\vxdldr.VXD
C:\WINDOWS\system\VMM32\VPICD.VXD
C:\WINDOWS\system\VMM32\VTD.VXD
C:\WINDOWS\system\VMM32\VXDLDR.VXD
C:\WINDOWS\system\VMM32\VWIN32.VXD
Finally it tells me It's now safe to shut off your computer.
What am I supposed to do now?
Someone please help me!!!
Thank you

Alot of files that windows needs to run are damaged. I think the easiest thing to do is to reinstall win95 over the present install. Before you do this, I would see if you can get in windows safe mode to run a virus scan. If not, I would run a virus scan as soon as you are able to boot back into windows.

Why can't the usb supplement be reinstalled later?

I thought 95B has the usb supplement included as an upgrade to 95a

I thought Win95C was the version that supported USB?
Me and a few friends use to run 95B and could never get USB to work.

Here's a link from Microsoft to create a new system.ini file if you're interested.

Turns out that later versions of 95b supported usb and also supported in 95c
It never worked properly until the advent of win98
I still don't see how this would effect this particular case.
