Does anyone use expense manager software?

    Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone here use any sort of expense manager to monitor your spending habits. If so which one do you use? What do you think about it? Does it exist in Pocket PC version? and where I can find a copy?

I need one that I can customize i.e. add item that the program is not included and then it can summarize all my expense by category such as restaurant, computer hardware, gaz, clothing etc. Also it will be helpfull, if it has a treshold warning. For instance, I would like to set a limit of $3000 for clothing expense, if I spent over that limits I will get a warning.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

You could set up an Excel spreadsheet in a matter of minutes to do this. It wouldn't give you a warning when you go over budget but your eyeballs could.

Or an accounting program like Quickbooks would work if you wanted to get fancy about it. Not sure about the warning either. But it maight at leaset have a "budget" type report you could view to see your over/unders.

    Thanks for your response.

I have no clue how to do this in excell. Is there someone kind enough to send me a sample? I will follow the sample and build more cell. I just need the sum of expense by category clothing, gas etc and the total of all category. Thanks in advance for your time and help.
