    Brown wire from power supply

Could someone tell me what this wire is used for? At Google I found the Brown wire = TIC. I don't have a clue what TIC is. Thanks for any help.

I found it on Tech Encyclopedia. TIC stands for token ring interface card. Thanks anyway.

That's probably not the correct answer to your question. Last I heard, Token Ring was a networking thing for the Macintosh. (It died during the transition to Mac OS X.

I doubt that's what the brown wire from the P/S is for. I would look it up for you, but I just threw away the user's guide to my Enermax 350-watt E-series PS.

I am taking the guts out of a HP 6370Z and I want to install them in an enlite 7237 case. The HP power supply has a brown wire going to the motherboard but the new 300 wt power supply does not have a brown wire. I don't want to damage the motherboard. Does anyone know what the brown wire is for? I guess I could get my VOM and see what voltage is on that wire.
