image saving problem
After re-building my pc, when I try to save images fom the Internet (using IE), I can no longer choose whether to save them as bitmap or jpeg. I am only given bitmap as a choice. where can I change this setting, BIOS?
I am concerned because I've heard that bitmaps, although more photographically accurate, also take more HDD space as well.
What can I do to have the jpeg choice available again?
Thanks!

What all did you do when you rebuilt your pc? What parts did you change? If it was the motherboard then you'll continue to have problems showing up better to do a clean install of win with a new mobo.

Rangeral...with advice like that I think you
better stick to moderating and let someone
else give answers.

well, ok.. here's the deal.
I burned up my old AMD K6 cpu and board, once the fan burned out, so i figured I would start from scratch.
New K7VZA mobo with 1.3 T-Bird
New 256 MB SDRAM 133
New NVIDIA 16MB Video card, (don't do a lot of gaming)
New 56X CD-ROM
Old 6GB hard drive.
Everything seems to run very well, no post errors,
the only glitch i have seems to be when I have a picture I want to save to my hard drive. Normally, when I save it defaulted to the file type on the file, jpeg or bmp. Now however, no matter what file type, it only allows me to save it as .bmp. Any ideas??

What OS? What version of IE?
I have W2K installed and have gif and bmp available with IE 5.00.3315.1000
NT 4.0 SP6 machine with IE 5.00.3314.2101 has both jpeg and bmp available.
Work around would be to save as bmp then open it in Paint and save as jpeg.
