What is a great graphics intensive game?

I just upgraded to an Athlon 1.4Ghz processor/mobo combo. I'm still using a Voodoo3 model 2000 and plan to upgrade to an APG video card soon, probably a GeForce 3.

What games are out there that can really push the limits of this type of setup.

My favorites are Quake, Q2, Q3, Unreal, UT, Heretic 2 and Descent 3.

You could try Max Payne. Thats got pretty high requirements and on full settings it pushed my P3-800 w/GF256 quite a lot!! Also Op Flashpoint is good, but more stealthy than the Quakes.

The best four I reckon are quake3, unreal tournament, half-life and operationflashpoint. I have all these games and they all are very good.

Aliens VS Predator 2 at max res will KILL your system. ;-)
    I was running an AMD Athlon 700 w/128mb ram w/GF256 TOO SLOW @ 800x600@16-bit
Upgraded (Yes, just for this game) to Athlon XP1700+, 512Mb GF256 and she runs okay at 1024x768, don't know how much more the little GF256 can take, but for all out fun..

    COUNTER STRIKE!!!
    That is THE game. BOOYAH!

MaxPayne, have you OC'd your GF256? I've got mine up as high as possible before it gets unstable and its boosted my 3dmark2001 scores quite a bit (300 points for a 40Mhz increase in memory clocks). May help you stick with that card a little longer. Although mine is a Plus version, so if yours is an original i'd suggest you go a little easier. With any luck I'll be changing system fairly soon. nForce, here we come.....

Black and White, although not a fast paced game, is just about the most demanding you'll find.

Even GeForce3 and Radeon 8500 cards can't hit very high frame rates.
