Hi Guys,

I'm getting a static ADSL connection on Monday and was want to set up a DNS server to do some things:

Basically I've got a domain whatever.com which is currently hosting a web server (www.) ftp server (ftp.) and POP/SMTP (mail.) I want to keep these online where they are, as my connection may go down or a computer go off, etc.....

Can I get the ISP to transfer the primary DNS to my static IP server (running Windows 2000 Adv. Server with DNS, DHCP and IIS) and I can then process all requests for www. ftp. and mail. as well as setting up ftp1. and for example testwww. etc.

The basically if my computer goes offline the ISP as the secondary DNS will respond to the requests?

Does this sound like the right set up or is there anything i'm missing here??

Thanks
