upgrade or by a whole new PC?

    Hi there.

I am asking this question as I have a local school who has some very old 133 and 166 pc's in one lab and 486 mchines in another.

They will replace the 133 and 166 with what is undetermined (ug or new) at this ponit but the 133 and 166 machines will replace some of the 486's.

The question is this: What is best to do? upgrade those machines that are upgradeable or replace the entire PC with new(the old machines have 16mb ram, cdrom, floppy 1gb to 1.5gb hd bad monitors, they are loosing clarity big time.

If there are any other questions I should be addressing as I am sure there are many, please include them. I relly appreciate any input as the budjet is small(10g Canadian dollars eh :?))
    Best Regards,
    Roy

You will have to replace just about every component except for maybe the floppy so get new. You can save a bunch of money by building systems instead of buying systems.

Check out pricewatch.com; you can get nice systems with 17" monitors for about US$450.
