DVD question
I was trying to install Office 2000 last night on my new system.
I only have the DVD CDrom.
It ran the setup and started the install, but then dies, with a Kernel32 error.
Is there any problem with DVD's running installs?
Then it lost its mind and thought the CD was an audio.
It might just be my system, but has anyone had problems using a DVD as a full time CDrom?
Specs:
AMD Athlon 1.4 'C'
Chaintech MOBO, new 266 FSB (forget the model)
256 MB RAM DDR 2100
32 MB Vid, number 9
I think its an a-open DVD, will check again.
Thanks

I have a Hitachi DVD which I used to installed and run all CDs.
Never had any problem, just check in device manager that it is detected as a DVD and not as a generic CD ROM.
