    Voodoo2 Vs. Voodoo3

I currently own a Creative Labs Voodoo2 PCI (12mb) and am considering buying a Voodoo3 2000 PCI (16mb) card. Is the Voodoo3 a lot better than the Voodoo2 or should I stay with Voodoo2?

The V3 was quite a performance card in it's time. Why don't u read some old reviews on it. There are quite a few still comparing V2's and even them in SLI.

When the V3 got out, they were described as V2 SLI on one board.

Yeah the voodoo3 where just about equal to a sli setup, and now you can pick one up fairly cheap(about $30 on pricewatch), i still have a machine with a voodoo3 in it. didn't really feel I needed to upgrade it, it wont hang with the bad boys anymore, but it ran everything up to and including, black and white(which is when I got a geforce, would not doubt if it would go farther) and it ran it fairly well, it was playable and responsive, although it lacks 32bit color it looks great (if i remember right it automatically dithers to 24bit). so yeah it would be a step up, but get agp if you can, unless you motherboard doesnt support it.

Voodoo 3 is better than Voodoo 2 but it just beats Voodoo 2 in SLI.

You really won't be able to tell much difference, if the games are already going fast..

Go with the Voodoo3 2000. You'll free up a PCI slot.
