Feeling a little guilty
I know someone who has offered to sell me a computer for $150. Now I bet your saying so what, well I think this machine is worth more than that. Its a Dell.
P3 700mhz
64mb RAM (maybe more)
10gb HDD (maybe more)
video (not sure)
Win98 SE
cd-rom (not sure)
mouse
keyboard
monitor
He's gonna give me all the details on it tomorrow (he knows almost nothing about computers) so I can really take a look and decide. I just feel that I'd be ripping him off. Good for me, bad for him. Mind you I really don't have a lot to spend and I'm only taking advantage of this due to the low price. Just tell me if I should be a good guy and give him more or just totaly rip him off.
This will all be over before you can say Cat in a Hat.

It is a tough one. I would tell him that the sytem is worth more and let him decide if he would rather find its value before selling. If it were me, I would probably let him check out a price himself and not aide him, in case he is later unhappy with the price you gave. This way you can buy with a clear conscience. If he still offers it to you for $150, then go for it.

He's actually an aquantince that mentioned he was getting a new PC and is selling his old one. I offered to buy and he gave me that price. I'm still waiting on all the details but I'm pretty sure I'll get it. I'll format and install Win98SE (full edition).

Get the computer, but be good to your word to help him when HE needs it. Not two weeks later when its convienent to you to go to his house. Having someone you can count on, when your CPU is down is invaluable.
Dave.
That burning smells not my computer... IS IT??

keyboard w/ multimedia buttons
He's gonna give me the final price tomorrow.

Gee sounds to me like it's worth a wee bit more than $150.00
Now that he has your interest he's probably going to jack it up a little or maybe a lot!

That said it all. Buy it. If he was a friend I would go with Daves advice.
