    hang up during download

I overclocked my PIII 450 system to 518 (115 x 4.5) and I thought it was running fine. but when i am connected to the net and start downloading, the pc freezes. but when i reduce it to 495 (110 x 4.5), it works.

any helpful suggestion or commnet will be appreciated.

When you overclock the fsb, you are also overclocking the pci bus. My guess is that one of your pci devices doesn't like running out of spec. If it's your modem, you might try using an external modem that attaches via the serial port.

yeah, i think its too much for the modem at the PCI to be out of spec. But its too expensive already buying a new external modem.

What other alternatives do I have to avoid this problem?
