    onboard sound

I have a Jetway 663AS-ultra with AC97 onboard sound. It works, but the volume is barely audible even with my active speakers turned up full. Can I do anything about this? The Bass and Treble controls in the Advanced section of the Multimedia volume control are greyed out.

I assume you are using windows.

Have you checked that wave and master volume are turned up, because if not that would explain the lack of noise.

    Hope it helps!

Win98 SE. All volume controls are at max except the bass/treble in advanced, which are greyed out.

I have a ECS K7VZA with onboard sound (AC97), and the sound it like that to. I tought it was jsut my motherboard.
I tried upgrading the driver using the one off windwows update and then It wouldnt even work.
I would like to know why its so low. Its my only sound in linux.
I have tried differet speakers. Turning all the volume up all the way. PLaying just loud recorded music, seems like when ever goes past a point it just sounds like all staitc .
