Well, since I don't need them for what they're supposed to be, they're being used as nuts for the screws to hold the exhaust fan in the back on. It was a $41 case (including shipping) with a 300watt ps and 9 bays! (4 big, 5 little). couldn't pass that up. From bestbyte.com. I guess it's cheap, but it fits my needs!
I've noticed a lot of cases going with the standard screw in motherboard mounts for all the mounting points that common for all motherboards, but then include the clips that you have shown for the motherboards that have unusual or non typical mounting points in addition to the normal mounting points. Unless you have an unusually large motherboard or one with alternate mounting points then you won't need these clips. Sometimes an extra clip is needed near the edge of the motherboard where the AGP/PCI slots expose to the outside. Don't neglet this one if you have it....it helps support the motherboard to facilitate installing and removing cards from the system.
Save them anyways....you never know when a different motherboard will be going into this case.
Very similar to the ' Cage Nuts' used for rack mounting routers, etc.
Very similar to techs we use, for mounting routers etc, except they are 'Uncaged Nuts' LOL. Sorry. Cheap Joke.
As for mounting fans, I've salvaged some late, dead, P/S's lately, for their fans, and found short self tapping screws used in them, that do the job real well.
But you don't have to limit your scanner pictures to small objects. Check out this picture of my guitar done completely with my scanner (& Photoshop): My Ibanez
Now how did you get your guitar in the scanner? Your guitar has to be 100 times the size of the scanner. What did you do, hold the scanner up like a camera?
J
Smile often! It makes people wonder what your up to.....
hehe. Well, not quite 100 times the size, but certainly too big to fit on the glass.
I just put the guitar on the scanner, scanned the image, then moved the guitar and scanned the next portion of it, and so on. It took about 12 full page scans. I then just pieced the images together with Photoshop. Piece of cake.
