    Rush Limbaugh is deaf

I know that many of you will not lose any sleep ove rthis, but :

Rush Limbaugh is going deaf. I know there are many pro-Democrat jokes that can come of this so... I think it is a shame. While I do not agree with all he says, I think he disceminates alot of great info to the public.

    Wow!

I heard him talking about hearing loss when I was in my truck returning from lunch, but I didn't realize it was that serious

What a terrible thing to happen to him. I've never really been a fan, but my heart goes out to him. I can't imagine what a day would be like without being able to hear. I really feel bad for the guy.

    ****. That's a pisser huh?

I first stumbled upon Rush's show a long time ago. I mean a real long time ago...maybe 14 years or so. I remember telling a friend of mine that he should listen to this guy I heard on the radio today because I knew he'd enjoy the way Rush was poking fun at liberal agendas & policies. But at the time I didn't even know his name, I just told my friend which station to tune to and at what time. I told him he'd know it's the right show if it sounded like the conservative guy...not a conservative guy...but, the conservative guy. Geeez, I wasn't even of drinking age back then.

I listened to Rush for a few years. In fact he's the one responsible for making me realize that I guess I am conservative. But as he got more popular and his audience grew I felt his show got watered down. He stopped doing "the homeless report" and started toning down his usage of labels like "femi-nazis". So, while I still agreed with most of his message, I felt the show lost it's edge, and I quit listening.

Then for the first time in many many years, I again tuned in his show just a few weeks ago. What immediately struck me as odd was how different his voice sounded. I knew Rush has been through a lot of changes since I last listened (marriage, lost LOTS of weight, etc.) but I couldn't understand why he'd change his great radio voice. I just assumed it was intentional because the way someone sounds doesn't just change like that, unless you make a conscience effort to change your speaking style...or unless you're losing your hearing.

****. That's too bad for 'the big guy'. I hope the doctors & specialists can do something for him.

And there's a perfect example of that compassion and tolerance of differing ideas that the left-wing liberals are so famous for.

(Well, at least they think that's what they're famous for. I think most of us know better.)

That was really a mean sprited thing to say about someone who had a personal tragedy. Reguardless of you views MrMikeL, the man deserves some common courtsey.

I don't agree with EVERYTHING Rush says, but you cannot argue that he is correct 'most' of the time, that is if you think Facts are correct not ideals.

The little songs he used to play would crack me up, he didn't spare any group, if you were liberal, he'd slam the heck out of you.

NO speaker is correct 100% of the time, not even conservative speakers from the South

    SHOCKED

I really CAN NOT believe it!

I didn't listen to him today but I am a BIG FAN and can say as long as he has a will to do his Radio Show IT WILL BE ON !!

We need to pray for the doctors to be able to do that surgery and restore most of his hearing!

I was listening to him on the way to work this morning and could not help but be amazed. He is not just "going" deaf he is, for all intents, profoundly deaf.

Yet, there he was still doing his show. Most in his position would simply toss it in and retire.

Like OuTpaTienT, I found his show a long time ago - 1989. He was originally on a station in my area that tends to lean to the left, and they quickly dumped him. Stupid move on their part since the station that picked up the show very quickly became the top banana here.

Whether one agrees or disagrees with him, he did one thing that nobody before had ever done. He created a national level counterpoint to the major media.

Even liberals should be grateful for that.

Left wing liberal? I'm hardly that at all. Unsympathetic toward his ailment? I'm hardly that at all, either. My comments were merely an accurate representation of his inability to consider anyones opinion except his own. I've not once heard him "agree to disagree" with anyone - he's always right, and everyone else is always wrong. I cannot tolerate such people.

He's not much different that Osama in that way, is he?

    Please, no personal attacks.

Noone is like bin Laden except for Hitler and a few other elite evil madmen. You cannot compare someone who is very strong-minded and strong-willed with a mass-murderer.
