I send you this file in order to have your advice
See you later. Thanks
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
WHATever.
What do you guys think? Having no updated virus software since McAfee screwed me over by trying to make me pay for updates, I'm quite cautious.
SORRY - no attachements from ANYone unless I'm expecting it.....especially not ones with a whacko extension that screams "VIRUS! VIRUS!" ....LOL

I'm using McAfee Virus Scan. I just go on the site and download the latest DAT file. Haven't paid once.
This will all be over before you can say Cat in a Hat.

Yep, definitely a virus. I've had two of those with that exact same message, just different filenames attached. Both were infected with Sircam.
Praetorian, the McAfee dat update files won't work for version 4.02 or earlier anymore.

I don't think hotmail would let you download it, even if you wanted to. Doesn't it run McAfee on every attachment?

Thats right, it should. I know it scans with McAfee on every upload. Must do the same for downloads too.
howste- Upgrade.

Have you guys noticed that the virus infected files are always grammatically incorrect?

Wart, Down Boy!
Do you really think that someone at a hotmail addy is on your case?
If a virus is doing it's job properly, the sender will no little about it.
Someone may be able to comment [as above] on how virii are handled on hotmail and how to deal with it.
Then let us all know. ChrsR.

Drop the sender an email that she has the virus, and attach a link that explains what the virus does. Be sure to mention that it is picking documents from her computer, which could be sensitive, and sending them to everyone in her address book. That should be sufficient motivation for her to disinfect her machine

Surreal - That is because Viruses are normally created by one of these people:
1) People from other countries (Pakistan, China, etc...)
2) Script Kiddies so Idiotic (hence the title "script kiddies) they don't know English
3) Idiots.
