win2k performance

Can you comment on the following setup of win2k:

1. one partition of fat32 with system files and one pagefile(swap) ( to advoid STOP error).

2. one much larger partition with applications and data files in ntfs.

3. one partition of pagefile(swap) in another drive in fat32 to handle virtual memory.

I am still not sure about whether I should or shouldn't put the apps and the data files in one partition and whether I should put smaller applications such as diagnostic programs and text editors together with the system files partition.

While not everyone might agree.. but here is how I do it:

C: (6 gig, FAT32): Win2k, important apps, things that should be backed up.

D: (24 gig, FAT32): Everything else, including pagefile.

1. The division of pagefiles into two separate files was based on the information from the following MS document:

2. The change from fat32 to ntfs to increase performance and protection for fro confident data.

3. The use of small partition of fat32 with system files fro easy maintenance and diagnosis ( such as defragmentation ) and networking.

Besides, I also added another small partition of over 1 gig fat32 as a shared partition for use with my CD-RW.

These are my opinions. They may/may not be correct but any other opinions will be welcome.
