    IE icon change!

    Hi all ..
    I have changed all the icons on my desktop .. except for IE (5.5) .. which i don't know how to change...
    Do you know how?
    BTW, my os is WIN2K ..

    Right click on the icon and go to properties. Click on change icon button and you'll get a choice. If you don't like any, browse to a file called pifmgr.dll, probably in /winnt/system32 folder. Or you can search and locate that file. Contains some nice icons. Select the one you like and click OK twice.

    You can also try other files with a dll extention or ico extention and see what you like. Thre are also a huge number of free icons available on the net as freeware: try www.ballericons.com for instance.

    I already did what you told me .. but when right click on the icon and choosing properties, there is no "change icon" botton, only the IE setteing options ...

    It works on my PC. Are you sure its the shortcut you are right clicking on? Does it point to : "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE"

    If it does, you should be able to do it as I just tried it.

    I just deleted the IE icon then created a shortcut from the "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" ..
    And now that icon has been changed ..
    Thanx a lot ...

    Good. Don't forget to check out the icon sites. Why use boring Microsoft icons when there's so much out there.

    Did you see the pifmgr.dll for icons?
