1. ## Standard way of measuring a fan???

Please choose the right picture of how to measure a fan..I am trying to install a fan on my side of the case, but don't know what size of a grill to get.

2. ## Neither A, B, nor C.

What you show in those pictures are not standard ways of measuring a fan. Fans are not measured diagonally. If your fan is the size of most fans used in power supplies, it is probably 80mm. That means that one side of the square frame is 80 mm (8 cm) long. You will generally see grilles sold sized for 50mm fans, 60mm fans, 80mm fans, 92mm fans, and 120mm fans.

Hope this helps.

3. Measure the fan straight across take the number you get and multiply by 25.4 and you'll have the size (give or take few) in Millimeters.

4. this might be the redneck way to tell. why dont you just measure the distance between the holes and get a grill that matches?

6. 2.53 cm = 1 inch
