    Two billionaires

    Sent to me via email:

    A Tale of Two Billionaires

"Two men, both billionaires. One develops relatively cheap software and
gives hundreds of millions of dollars to charity. The other sponsors
terrorism. That being the case, why is it that the US government has spent
more money chasing down Bill Gates over the past ten years than Osama bin
    Laden?"

    - GOPN&V reader William Conklin
The only thing I see about this is that I don't think the software is cheap.

Yeah, the news said Osama (only) had hundreds of millions. This is pocket change to Bill. He gives this to charity mostly because he has to and it's a tax write-off.

The irony here is that Bin Laden most likely has laptops that are running Microsoft Windows.

Youch! I do sometimes feel like a tester, I see your point.

I think if you want to analyze Mac vs. Microsoft you'll find a fair bit of espionage and other dirty tricks on both sides. It seems like the person on top is just a bigger target for potshots and/or sour grapes.

    Somewhat off-topic:

I heard somewhere that when Bill wrote his first version of MS-DOS he forgot to write an installation application for it. Can anyone confirm/deny?
