Need advice on compatible video card

I've got an Aopen MX3L mobo running a 466 celeron on it, I had a Voodoo3 videocard in there and it was not responding. I called Aopen Tech support and was told that this card might not be compatible with the mobo.. I need to know from the experienced public out there, what type of decent videocard to run on this mobo.......

    Thanks George

Your Mobo has the i440 LX chipset. Which also means its AGP slot is AGP 1.0 compliant @ 1x/2x . Have'nt heard any incompatibilities with it on that chipset. Could be a regulator issue. Seems it should work. You'll need to focus on the AGP slots spec's to be sure of compatibility. The ATI xpert 2000, Savage 4, and Nvidias TNT and the Voodoo2 are fair choices. The LX boards were mainly suited for office work and not for highend graphics.

GeorgeRes...I dunno about your problem. The only thing I might suggest is that you have the latest BIOS flash and video drivers.

As someone who was stationed at Hurlburt a few years back, I just wanted to be the first to welcome you to Sysopt!

And be persistent, someone here ought to be able to help you out.

    Best of luck!

Need advice on compatible video card too

I have the same doubt as you.

Does my mobo support GF2 MX400? Please answer.
Hi all. This is my first time here and would like to find an answer to my doubt. I need to know if my mobo supports the GF2 MX 400 card. This card needs a 2X or 4X AGP port and I don't know if my mobo's AGP port support this specs. My system is like this:

QDI Legend V mobo. Intel 440 LX chipset.
    AGP 1.0
    Pentium II 233Mhz
    192 Mb Ram
    Windows 95 B os

I tested my system with Sandra and it said that the AGP max data transfer rate is 2X. Does this mean that it support the GF2 MX 400 card?

    Please answer
