I am making a comp but what kind of RAM do I use?

I am making a computer with an Abit KG7 mobo and an Athlon 1.4GHz,266FSB processor.

But what kind of Ram would I use? I am going to use DDR, but do I use pc2100,pc1600,pc2400. or what?

    Does it matter?

If you ever plan on using all four DIMM slots you will need to buy registered ram since only two slots can be used for unregisterd/unbuffered ram.

I would suggest pc2100 or pc2400 registered ram.

    Do not get pc1600.
Get pc2100, unless your going to overclock your computer by increasing the FSB to at least 150MHz (300MHz DDR) then you'll want to go with pc2400.
    General rule:
    pc1600 - rated speed is 200MHz (default speed of Durons/Older T-Birds)
pc2100 - rated speed is 266MHz (default speed of newer Athlon-C's and XP's)
pc2400 - rated speed is 300MHz (requires overclocking Front Side Bus)
