*FREE** Win XP Pro - if you work for right store
Wish I worked for one of these stores:
http://www.microsoft.com/retail/live/
Scroll to the bottom of the page for a list of stores. Lots of them - even Radio Shack and Staples!

Yea, thanks for the info IW, I'm sure my pals at Office Depot will appreciate it if they don't already know.
This link adds some credibility to some stores as MS don't fool around with fly-by-night vendors->>
Among them
" Computers4sure.com,
Costco Wholesale Inc
Egghead.com
J&R Computers
Micro Center
Outpost.com
Planet X
Shopping.com
Shopping4Sure.com
Solutions4sure.com

I've never heard of Microsoft being so generous. This is the Full Professional Version. Does anyone know if it requires a previous version of Windows? Either way it's an awesome deal.

From what I gathered at the link provided above, you have to sign up for a class in a fairly large city area to get the instruction and then you may get the software.
-
well, the class can't possibly be more than 5 hrs. In Philly, there's one at 2, and one at 7. Prolly more like three hours. And I think it;s just a demonstration, so you can see XP firsthand, not really a class. Saving 180+ on XP pro is far worth it in my book.

I've attended software presentations by Microsoft for college teachers in past years. The format was a couple of hours of presentation and discussion and then a chance for questions.
The software was "handed out" at the end and was always the full retail package and not an upgrade version.
BE SURE TO SIGN UP PROMPTLY and reserve a space. You can't show up at the last minute without a space reserved. The presentations usually fill up quickly and often there are phone calls or e-mails from Microsoft reps to people telling them about.
I posted this because I suspicion that stores would possibly not get the word down to "low level" employees and they are the ones who should know about how the products work. It shouldn't just be for management.
