Lightbulb lets compare AMD k6 benchmakrs!

i want to know what kind of sandra benchmarks people are getting with k6-2's.
what was the origianl chip speed? what mobo?
show those benchmarks AND what version of sandra you are running.

original chip for me is k6-2 400

    4.5x100 on a gigabyte ga5ax with sandra 99 i had:

    CPU 1216
    FPU 540
    Integer MMX 1200
    FP 3dnow 897

    5x95 on a EPoX mvp3g3 with sandra 2000:

    CPU 1028
    FPU 575
    Integer MMX 1264
    FP 3DNow 1755

edit---any ideas why Sandra 2000 decided to drop the benchmoark scores on these chips....?

    I have an AMD K6-2 450 AHX 2.4v on a FIC VA503+ Mobo. I am using a water cooler, and I used Sandra 2000.

    4.5 x 112FSB = 504Mhz @ 2.5v =

    CPU dhrystone ---------------- 1120MIPS
    CPU/Memory Bandwidth --- 152Mb/s
    FPU whetstone ---------------- 626MFLOPS
    Floating-Point 3DNow -------1823it/s
    FPU/Memory Bandwidth --- 154Mb/s
    Integer MMX - ------------------1237it/s
    PERFORMANCE RATING -PR504mhz
    -----------------------------------------

    5.0 x 100FSB = 506Mhz @ 2.6v

    CPU dhrystone ---------------- 1087MIPS
    CPU/Memory Bandwidth --- 135Mb/s
    FPU whetstone ---------------- 622MFLOPS
    Floating-Point 3DNow -------1812it/s
    FPU/Memory Bandwidth --- 137Mb/s
    Integer MMX - ------------------1230it/s
    PERFORMANCE RATING -PR501mhz
    ----------------------------------------

    5.5 x 95FSB = 522Mhz @ 2.6v

    CPU dhrystone ---------------- 1131MIPS
    CPU/Memory Bandwidth --- 128 mb/s
    FPU whetstone ---------------- 651MFLOPS
    Floating-Point 3DNow ------- 1896it/s
    FPU/Memory Bandwidth --- 130 mb/s
    Integer MMX - ------------------ 1287it/s
    PERFORMANCE RATING - PR524mhz

I guess I should be happy about the 4.5x112 setup.

I am 100% sure that your 450AFX will do 560 (5x112) @ 2.7V and although sandra will report it slower than @ 570 it will actually be faster overall. dropping the FSB of the K6-2 is the worse you can do. Lower the multiplier and increase the fsb. I run my 450AFX @ 4.5x124=558. My sandra results are lower than when I run it @ 5x112 but the performace overall is so much better! The extra bandwidth allows for most programs to run faster and only fpu dependent tasks (seti, mpeg encoding etc) should be affected (but they don;t because the mem/disk acces is faster).

I have run my CPU @ 6x95, 5.5x100, 5x112 and 4.5x124 and the last setup is the best.

Also, comparison of different systems with sandra is a waste of time (I have talked about this extensively in another post so I can't be bothered to do it again). The numbers look similar though!

Both of you, do a right-click on your broken images, choose "view image" and you'll discover why they are not showing.

    Multi 1600 / 1199
Mem sucked around 100 to 110

    Sandi 2000 ???
    CPU 1287 / 744

    That's a 500 at 600mhzzzzzzzzzzz's

Now, we need RobRich to explain to us that it's all meaningless and inaccurate.

they are pretty meaningless...but it is interesting to see the results and see how much sandra 2000 dropped the scores sooo much...

    Dear Otheos,

That sounds like a good plan, only the my gigabyte board does not have those settings. I do not have 112 or 124... Mine only go up in incriments of 5.. so my closes would be 120 & 125... which I am pretty sure my mother board will not do. I can not even reach 5x110 with stablity. Anything over 105 fb on this board seems not to work. I don't know if it is because of my hard drive or what.. but I get "Windows Protective errors"

Thanks, for the post anyhow :-)

I just need a Super 7 board with above-100mhz settings.

Maybe after the new job I can agfford one, huh?
