Modem prob du to OC?

I have a buddy who right now is thinking maybe he has the same problem. Also, this cold cpu dude is getting anoying. going through all the posts and posting the same link. whats the deal???

I O/C'd my P3 500, well the fsb anyway, 112 x 5. Now my 56k modem (Diamond SupraMax winmodme) is acting flaky. Takes like 3 tries to connect then when it does the dial up says I connect at 44 - 46 but I ONLY GET 2.5K downloads. And playin Quake, forrgetaboutit!

A friend told me he had a similar problem when he upped the fsb on his P3450. And it was due to the modem not being able to handle 112 fsb.

The system runs stable and there are no probs except for the pci modem. The ISA modem (Supra 33.6) works the same as it did b4 the O/C. I need faster downloads! Is there something I can do to fix this? I can't get DSL or Cable internet connections yet, if you were gonna suggest that!
