That's a good temp for a 1.4 at idle. What is the temp whent he CPU is at 100%? I doubt that is the issue though if he has a good HS/fan. If it were just the game, I would still say it was heat related and the video was getting too hot.

What kind of power supply is in the system?

Sound like a memory problem. If there is more than 1 stick of RAM try removing excess leaving one stick at a time alternating sticks and slots. See if the problem 'follows' a single stick of RAM or a particular slot.

    Half-life 1.1.0.6

Could be heat related as well. Internet and MP3's are not CPU/GPU intensive, while CS is. Check the temps in the system and the fan setup.

    Moving to Tech Support.

I remember hearing something of a "memory hole" or something to that nature while using ME. This may or may not be related to your situation but whne I read your post it reminded me of the story. If you want more information on it I'd have to try and remember where I sa it.

I had the same problem and I solved it by installing the "VIA PCI Latency Patch"by George E. Breese. it solved for 100%. I got the patch from www.viahardware.com. I think you can still find it in the archive and if not you can send me an email. Then I will mail it to you. Good luck

    Eindhoven de gekste!!!!!!!!!!!
