Printer print funny characters.
Every time when i start windows,my printer
will print a page with 2 "hearts" character.
I try to update the printer driver but still
have the same problem.
I'm using Windows 98SE & Lexmark Optra S 1250
printer which connected locally.
Anyone have a good suggestion???

Do you have any other devices attached between the parallel port and the printer, i.e. parallel ZIP drive? Sometimes, if the devices aren't configured properly, it will mess up the printer and cause them to go haywire and print weird stuff when it's not supposed to. Hope this helps.

I know it a silly question but you have selected the correct driver for your printer as default ? I would personaly delete any unwanted drivers. How long is your printer cable ? Do you have other equipment (Scanner switch box) on the same cable. If so remove them and try again

I had a bad printer cable cause my Epson to spit out garbage when my PC started.
Also, careful if you've used a switch box. I've had them "kill" a parallel port on a machine. This caused the a printer to spit out smiley faces and stuff everytime I went to print.
Good luck.
