Must get complete identical WD20EZRX green sata HDD. have new WD20EZRZ. i exchanged boards- on both initialization needed and both MBR and GPT choosen told CRC-failure. had docking-station directly on usb. whould have thunderbold as alternative to usb 3.0 slot.

WD see video at 5.28 same DCM and date on duplicate. didnt yet find.

When new matching PCB Board controller found for WD one could try to swap. if nonworking eighter swapping OLD ROM-chip to new Board or transfer its content to new ROM chip of new board. Transplanting can be done by pc or smartphone-shop or batteryshop. or by oneself. not that hard. see videos

very good. in this article for WD only chip transfer is advised. not old FW to new ROM-chip of new board. old board most probably is defective. drive ok.
if there is a ROM-chip 8 leg only physical transfer is advised. not FW-data-transfer. maybe to avoid bad luck if new chip is defective. most unlikely when drive is new and sealed. means on new sealed drive FW transfer should be an option. this is the more expensive task. transplantation could be made locally.

here my green WD. he says blue. some listed are blue. WD gave up green- dont know consequeces with designations.
will WD20EZRX not be used anymore with other color?

i have read about green given up.
NB: during dockingstation use.now ide/sata-combo found out strange IDE/PATA incompatibity. see other thread.

Since found out adapter instead of dockinstation recognizes HHD-drives better i am now on an adapter.
drive showing two partitions where only first is visible but shows only RAW. remember: earlier i initialized it and set volume. bot now its telling if i remove data is lost. its telling file-system non compatible. Board seems defective. canadian company telling they have 95% luck by swapping rom-chip. from defective to identical board. i think it will be 100% when using a sealed identical HDD. swapping could be done here. even i could do. but will let it be done.
only ROM/Firmware-transfer needs a specialist, hard/software not cheap enough. see videos.
