    Unhappy Missing hard drive

Hello everyone I am sort of in a bit of a stuck place. One of my 2TB HDDs is missing from Windows. It was there this morning. and is still recognized in the BIOS. However it will not recognize in Windows 7. I have tried switching around my SATA Cables to no avail, it still is in BIOS but will not appear in Windows. This HDD has all of my Steam software installed on it.

Does the hard drive appear in Device Manager and Disk Management?

Do you see any errors in Event Viewer?

It is not in the HDD or device manager no. I do remember a BSOD the night before. But I restarted the PC and it started back up with no problem. I have not looked at event viewer as of yet. I will do that though. It is rather strange how it recognizes in the BIOS but will not recognize in Windows.

sometimes FW-refresh could help. will do that on an older Gigabyte where ide-drive cannot be seen anymore after a power-shutdown when pc was online. will first try on newer pc. data not affected.
    ATTENTION:
More than often cleaning contacts helped. and replacing cable.
