Try it with Firefox's Safe Mode. Click the menu button , click help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.... Firefox will start up with the Firefox Safe Mode dialog.

Yes could be. But then as always i must reinstall the addons.they are saved with FEBE. still unsure if its FEBE which is the mess. maybe not i dont remember. i apologized already there so it must be true. FEBE not guilty with other messes(have my own tread about it). . FF message is misleading, addons will not be deactivated but removed. Its the messed up drive with partition-tables overlapping. also cannot DL txt-file-attachment from email. but in admistrators account its working.
but there i dont have no addons. will change the accounts and check.

Hang on, I'm going to try it here ...

Firefox is working exactly as it should on this end.

Here's a screenshot of my Firefox Addons before restarting Firefox in Safe Mode:

And here's a screenshot of my Firefox Addons after restarting Firefox back up in normal mode:

Sorry mixed up FF reset with safe mode.
some of the addons of combinations mixing this up? what should be done? disable one after the other? its not downthem all, maybe deactivating is not enough. but sometimes i had troubles with it. DLs not working properbly. shutdown immediately.
in Normal mode i can open tx-textfile with editor from within email.

    dont understand this backup:
And here's a screenshot of my Firefox Addons after restarting Firefox back up in normal mode:
will or should this procedure- going to safe mode and back again- solve my download-problem?
or should i try to download in safe mode? then reactivate one addon after the other with DL-trials inbetween?

in Normal mode i can open tx-textfile with editor from within email.
Yep, a Firefox Reset (instead of Safe Mode) will remove your Firefox Addons. ("Reset" resets Firefox back to factory settings).

I did nothing special (magical) above. I simply took a screenshot of my Firefox Addons, told Firefox to restart in Safe Mode, took another screenshot showing the disabled Addons, restarted Firefox normally, then took the last screenshot showing the Addons were enabled once again.

I don't know what Addons you're using, or if whatever combination is "mixing this up". Because of this, I cannot tell you what should be done. Disabling one at a time and then testing might work.

I also don't know why downloading files would cause an immediate shutdown. Is the computer overheating?

As far as being able to open a text file in a webmail email when using Firefox, yes, that's normal.

Don't know. Try it and see.

Yes. And if it works find, then it must be one, or more of your Addons causing the problem.

There you go. And when and if the computer reboots, the last one you activated could be the one causing the problem. Of course it could also be a conflict between that Addon and another one, or more.

    Yes.
Restarting Firefox back up in normal mode
    and
    Restarting FF in normal mode?
    mean the same thing.
