i think it might be a bad ram but i dont have any extra ones to try it on, are there any ways to test the ram to see if it damaged?

There are memory tests on UBCD like Memtest86+.
-
i ran the memtest with 3 passes and no errors came up, any ideas what it could be

Did you run the hard drive diags yet?
-
i dont think i did, how do i do that, also dont know if it matters or not but when it was running the scan it said ECC: disabled, is it supposed to be disabled
-
Yes that is fine, most5 of us have no use for ECC.
UBCD has hdd diagnostics on it, Seagate one will do the trick if you do not know what brand of hdd you have.
-
the hdd is a western digital 320gb
-
i dont know where to get seagate or UBCD and how to use it

i dont know where to get seagate or UBCD and how to use it
Then how did you run Memtest86+? Did you download that directly from their website?
Did you run a hard drive diagnostic first? You can either get it from the hard drive manufacturer's site or download UBCD from the link in my signature. You will need to know how to properly burn .iso files to cd.
Like I said, go to the hard drive manufacturer's site (Western Digital) and get their diags OR get UBCD. You didn't state the model of the drive, so you'll have to look it up before you download the diags.

You got the Windows version, which must run from within Windows.
The instructions are on the WD website:

Normally, I would recommend the DOS version from UBCD.
You still didn't answer the question about Memtest86+. Did you get that from their website or did you run some other memory test?

sorry i downloaded from the website
-
then i burned the iso to a disc and booted it on the computer that has the problem

If you know how to burn .isos, then why didn't you download UBCD instead? It has Memtest86+, most manufacturer's HD diags, and much more. One CD with everything versus burning each individual utility.
