    Data-Partition not clean

Chkdsk is running all the time at startup and i get an error-message after running tfc that i should run chkdsk.
But it did not help. Worse: the problem is exported when ghosting the partition to a second drive.
That drive should now be clean. will resinstall winxp there. i stopped DBAN during third pass. didnt want to wait another 4 1/2 hrs after 2 1/2.

Maybe a different copy method could help.
    maybe multiple scanners?
    thanks a lot

    Chkntfs usually stops that.

    http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/ntcmds.mspx?mfr=true

2 full passes should do the trick.

    Chkntfs seems not running

In adm mode i run cmd
    then chkntfs /x f:
f=my partition to be cleaned or remove from cleaning.
it only shows: filesystem is ntfs.

chkdsk is still running and showing errors.

how can i evaquate my data? removing them and formatting this partition? or removing all data and DBAN full drive?

maybe better working with this data from an external drive, right?

I would find or get a new hdd. Throw that one away after using a large hammer on it.

for that one- wd i could really use a hammer but not for IBM/HITACHI since the disks are not metallic but glass, right? very dangerous.

ok chkdsk-error stays but i could at least stop the chkdsk-start-up running.
i had to use the "elevated command prompt" information found at macrium.com.
google how to run elevated command prompt

    will evaquate data.
and setup new winxp on new drive.

btw: winxp is running quite quicker-at least for startup since Spybot is removed.
completely and innovative version 2 is beta and trial.

I lay a peive of old tarp over the hdd before hitting it. Keeps things from flying and hurting me.

    breaking CD/DVDs

slip CD/DVDs into paper or whatever sleever before bending them.
ok, chkdsk-running at start reappeared will now block it in registry.
    partition is dirty.
