    Create image from recovery partition?

I am working on a laptop (Compaq) that appears to have a corrupt primary partition. I am not sure if the recovery partition is corrupt but if not, would like to pull that partition onto another media to then install a new hard drive and recover the system. Data has been recovered from the primary partition so it wasn't entirely useless.

Is is possible to transfer the Recovery Partition to another media and use it??

Sorry, I forgot to Google this first and now see there are many suggestions but I have yet to find one that says they were successful. Feel free to advise if you have a solid answer. Thanks.

Two weeks ago I went to www.hp.com and ordered a set of recovery disks/drivers for an HP Mini. It cost $16.75 delivered to my door. Odds are you can do the same.

Unfortunately, HP/Compaq does does list a recovery disk set for the HP Compaq 8710p with Windows Vista Business (32-bit). Thus my problem.

Never ordered from there before, but it's an option.
