No sound from ASUS on-board controller
Hi there -
I just built a new box on a P8Z68 DELUXE motherboard. I am running Windows 7 ((64-bit) and using the on-board sound with Realtek controllers. I'm using all current drivers from the ASUS website and the thing doesn't make a peep of sound using either the optical outputs or the analog outputs.
However, if I connect a pair of headphones to the headphone port on the front panel, I will get some sound from there - but only in the testing portion of the soundmanager application, and not otherwise in Windows.
Processor is an Intel Core i7-2700K 3.5 GHz LGA 1155 Processor BX80623I72700K.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Go into sound management and make darn sure what audio you want is selected.
Here is how.

I would be interested, however, in whatever the how-to link has for sound management as you had intended.
Thanks.
