kindle question
the received wifi signal on my kindle is very weak.
is there any way to boost this signal?
kindle has a micro usb connector on bottom..no other jacks/connectots etc.
the wifi router comes from the office of my apartment complex and is free to all tenents.
thanks.

Probably not. I'd just try to find a place closer to the WiFi router when connecting. It's not like you need to stay online all the time with the Kindle.

would a wifi range extender work?
I see adds for Netgear range extenders 2 models--about $70 each) which "extend the range of your router..work with sdmartphones, ipads etc"....
the incoming signal is 1 out of 4 bars--if this device would "boost" it to-say- 3 bars (on the kindle)..my problem would be solved
ps--which of the two netgear range extenders would provide higher gain: one looks like a wallwart which plugs into an ac outlet; the other-like a regular router..
thanks....

Not sure about the specific models, but they are basically a wireless repeater and work as a stand alone device, so should work.

ok..was told these extenders have to be configured for a particular router--ie--they can not be used to boost "any incoming" wifi signal???
is this true? if so- i cant use these extender devices!
(I need a device which can boost ALL incoming wifi signals without need for confirguration to a particular router/network)

Frankly I wouldn't know, but I'll bet it's an easy google to find out.
