    dxdiag in win 7

    hi all
had a freind staying here and her computer ran fine(did a clean install of win 7).

she justed called and says she cant play any games on her computer,(laptop)

acer travel mate, cant recall the #. 5220 I think but may be wrong, anyway aparently every thing works except it wont play any games including the ones that come pre-loaded, solitare, minesweeper etc.

how do you do a graphics diagnostic with win 7.

with win xp and earlier if you typed dxdiag in the run option didnt that do a graphics diagnostic? if so, how do you run it in win 7.

she realy should have kept the dual boot set up I originaly set up for her(win 7 and ubuntu) but she wanted the space.

If the graphics card packed it in would it still work in standard VGA mode? that would exsplain why her ages of empires and stuff wouldent run, but not the on board games!

any who, any thoughts would be apreciated.

    ward

Did you just just hit the Startbutton and type dxdiag at the bottom (run)

    Possible help.

I dont think their is a run option in win 7 from the start menu. I dont have win 7 on any of my rigs and i dont recall seeing it on hers, if i had the laptop here i could figure it out but i dont, and she,s very computer iliterate, she figures if you hit the keys harder that will fix it, if you know what i mean.

It is there. Typed cmd so you know where it is.
