    Resolution setting in monitor disappeared...

Another first time oddity over the last 11 years. I just got on my computer for the first time today ( amazing feat for me ), found out that i am running at a higher resolution then my typical one, which is 1024 x 1260> think that is right. Its the one just after 1280x960.
What happened? I just un-instqlled my driver , which is the most recent from Nvidia for the 9600GT series and then installed another one ( actually a better version but it works great ( meant for dual higher end cards mostly ), and same thing. That particular resolution is not there in settings.

I find this odd, other then could it be my monitor cannot handle it anymore or what is happening here? Also installed the more proper version of PhysX and it works fine.

The best resolution is the native resolution of the monitor. In your case, 1920 x 1080 . Anything lower and the pixels start to blurrrr .

Still not right... All i can find is the latest updated Nvidia driver ,which i have now, and my previous resolution is gone. MY favorite golf game now looks all stretched vertically, even on 1024 X768. I can gt 1280 x960, which is OK, and one lower, then it jumps to these odd resolutions.. like 1480x720 etc.. on up.

On top of that i no longer have the 60MHZ refresh rate. That is gone. Checked my monitor settings and they seem fine.

Since a recent fresh OS install, I lost my saved driver from previous, which i think would solve this.

Do you or anyone know where i can pick up the 258.xx or 260.xx release? Checked google and did not find anything yet.

Look under the Additional Software and Drivers then Beta and Archieved files
    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

That is where the older versions are.

I found one set I had saved on a DVD of stuff i burned, and installed the 260.99 drivers. At first the same resolutions showed, but i went into the Nvidia control panel and played with some stuff there, 'the resoution change ajnd clicked to show other resolutions, and from out of nowhere suddenly it showed on my desktop startup menu in right startup bar. At first before the 1024 x 1280 was still missing then I played with the show displays in the video card C.P. and it showed up finally. I know.., its confusing to me too. Still do not quite fully understand it all.

I would run on higher but its too small and streched out vertically too much. The 1024 setting is just right. My golf game then suddenly showed it also. Must be linked to desktop or monitor setting.

One more thing. I'm always not sure if i should use the displays scaling or the Nvidia one, but i switched it to 'My display setting.

Also, i clicked on the typ. Nvidia link and i had looked for that info in there before and found nothing on the page to indicate older or previous drivers at all. Where is that link?

Selected from the drop down boxes to match your card and OS
