Can anyone give me simple instructions on editing pdf files?

I can't seem to find anything that I need to edit pdf. I need a simple program without all the crappy boxes etc. What is a simple good program for this? I can't find most of the tools needed for the editing.

It's hard to find a freebie PDF editor with all the bells and whistles. Acrobat Pro is still the standard.

What are you trying to do? There are plenty of ways of exporting files to pdf, but editing existing files can be tricky. I've seen some free online sites that claim to do it, but they are flaky.

Not to mention a lot of pdf's are password protected...

OpenOffice will let you edit some non locked (protected) PDF files, as well as CorelDraw if you happen to have one
