    Video - SLI

In SLI, Do the video card have to be the same model number or just the same brand and size?

Like to say with different model numbers : one a "ST" and the other card a "GT"

    Thanks

You could use cards from different vendors as long as the core chip is the same.

In an SLI configuration, cards can be of mixed manufacturers, card model names, BIOS revisions or clock speeds. However, they must be of the same GPU series (e.g. 8600, 8800) and GPU model name (e.g. GT, GTS, GTX).
If you did somehow manage to get SLI to work with 2 different cores (ST vs GT), it would end up being like 2 of the lower cards.

This is what I needed to know. Mine is pvt88pydQ4 and the one I'm looking at is an F4. That is the only difference.

    Thanks Mid
