    MB/CPU/Ram Update

Lots of people have moved from this forum and I don't even know where to post this thread.

I don't know if the members here still build new systems or not (the traffic seems so low here).

This site was the first and only one for for me to learn how to build and fix my last build of 6 years ago.

For the great work of the some really helpful and great folks here, I would still like to post for any recommendation/change

Going with Windows 7 64 bit. The setup will be used for Internet/MS Office. The most demanding work will be using PhotoShop and Sony Vegas (hence HDMI port), but only once every 4 or 6 weeks.

Are my specs overkill for my use (considering I do not update every other year)? I hate to waste resource and fill up lands for something I am not going to use.

I consider that a nice base and one I am looking at. I figure it will last for many a year .

The video card will be the power hog more than likely as some draw about 300 watts by themselves.

On board would do nicely for most of us.

Make sure you get a good power supply about 600 Watts and it will idle along for years.

Although my computing will never use 6 cores CPU, but I hope it will not become obsolete in 3-4 years. :-)
