    videos wont play

    Hi, I'm using windows media player 9 with xp home sp3. I have loads of video recorded from a hauppage tv card in mpg format, which I've played lots of times over the years with media player with no problem. Since upgrading to mp9 it just says '...cannot play this file, it may be an unsupported format'.
    Can anyone help please, its winding me up!!!

    Why I switched to VLC media player.

    Got tired of chasing down codec's.
    Although K-lite standard. usually fixes things.

    I agree, vlc plays alot of things windows media wont.
