    New box or repair

    Hi All,

    What do you think of this deal on a new reman box? Any concerns when buying one that is a reman?

    My debate is either upgrade my xp box to windows 7 and add some memory for around $450 on a system that is 4yr old. Gateway media center athlon 2 core with 2gig of memory ATI radeon x1600 250mg hd.

    I'm not to sure on the power supply on this reman box seems a little small.

    My application recommends a quad core with 8meg memeory and it may be time for an upgrade anyway.

    To get a real good warm fuzzy from buying a REFURB - see what a brand new version of the same or very similar machine costs

    Its almost a no brainer when come to spending $450 to upgrade a 4 year old machine or for a little bit more getting newer one. (course I don't know what the specs on the current machins are.)

    The Gateway would make a nice file server with out upgrading and that refurbish is over $100 cheaper and has a faster cpu when I compared
