    Canon i965 problem

    Hi every one
I have a Canon i965 printer which I am having a print problem with at the moment. The problem is when I print a photo I have faint red lines going down the photo. I have done all of the maintenance with in the printer software like cleaning the head and so on but the lines are still there. Is there any one that can help me with this problem.

    Thank you

Sounds like you need to replace the printheads, not just clean them.

Hi every one I think I have found out the problem, I think it is down to the size of the photo I am doing. If I print a full A4 size copy the lines will be there, But If I print a smaller copy every thing is normal. This printer only uses six tanks of ink, perhaps I need a printer with more ink options for larger photo's. Also I have been taking my photo's on the highest pixel setting, I am sure this is not helping either.

Thanks for you help any way

    12

    Image sizes *
    • 4272 x 2848 (L)
    • 3088 x 2056 (M)
    • 2256 x 1504 (S)

    Output formats
    • RAW (.CR2 14-bit *)
    • RAW (.CR2 14-bit *) + JPEG Large/Fine
    • JPEG (EXIF 2.21) - Fine, Normal

A good review of the camera is here:
    http://www.dpreview.com/news/0801/08...noneos450d.asp

I would use the Large and RAW (.CR2 14-bit *)

Then as Windows can not deal with Raw, I would use FastStone Image Viewer
    http://www.faststone.org/
To view and convert the files to tif for back up/archieve purposes.
Then convert teh raw files to the jpg for email or web usage.

I use a Nikon D40 and that is the route I use. Remember .jpg files are lossey,

Check out typical usage at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JPEG
