MS Excel 2003 problem

Hi. I'm running MS Excel 2003 on a computer with Windows 7. All of a sudden I can no longer insert a row in a particular worksheet. I can do so in other worksheets in the same workbook, but not in this particular one. I did nothing to change the settings in this workbook from when I could insert a row 5 minutes prior to not being able to insert a row.

I've tried both right clicking on a row and choose "Insert" and going to the top menu "Insert/Rows" and in either case I get the following error mssg:

cannot shift objects off sheet

I've run a search through MS's off-line and on-line help system but no solution. Can anyone help or suggest anything?

Also I can no longer hide a column in this worksheet, delete a column or resize a column. I get the same error mssg re: cannot shift objects off sheet. I checked and the worksheet and workbook are not protected or locked in any way that I can see.
