    ULi bsod

I'm sure this is an old issue but I couldn't find anything on it - The SATA/RAID controller installed on the system below came from the ASUS website.
It is ULi M1575 Chipset Driver V1.0.5.2a from Jan 2006.
I'm getting a bsod when the optical drive is accessed. I tested the memory and re-seated everything but found no issues. Read on the internet that there is a known issue with ULi drivers and 3rd party optical drives.
If so, does anyone know where to get an updated ULi SATA driver at a site that doesn't want you download some application you don't want in addition to the driver.

Should I just get an IDE DVD/RW and would that solve the problem?
    Thanks

I decided to go ahead and order an IDE DVD/RW. It seemed logical that if the problem is a conflict with the SATA/Raid controller and the optical drive; then avoiding the conflict by using an IDE connection would be a solution.
