    Hi ya' all......
I need help with a computer that boots to a screen invalid system disk ..

Started when they had generator on from a power outage problem.......
I looked at it and it booted without a problem did a few improvements and it was working great when I left......
got a call it is doing the same thing......
Could this be a voltage problem ?
they do have a lot of stuff on one circuit.
or might it be a hdd issue....???

It could very well be a bad drive. Did you run any diags on the drive yet?

Diag it for sure, so you know where you sit.

You can just download UBCD from the link in my signature. It has WD diags, as well as a bunch of other useful apps.

Why floppies? If all you can do is floppies, then go to the WD site and grab em.

Just download the.iso and burn it to a CD. If you don't know how to burn .iso files, read the FAQ.

? So you downloaded the WD diags .iso and burned them as an image?

Unfortunately, I'm not running a WD drive, so it closes saying "non-wd drive". You should run a quick test, then the extended test if the quick test passes.

    WD floppy
    http://support.wdc.com/product/downl...&sid=2&lang=en

Used the EXE and that is messed up. Can not load and the A:\> showed up.
Reason, Can't load BDOS kernal file: A:\IBMDOS.COM
Might want to double check if it is a WD hdd.

The CD works just fine , Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for DOS (CD)
    I use Diag504fCD.iso
