    bankerfox.a virus/trojan

My son has this virus on his computer and I can't seem to get it off. What is the best way to get rid of it. Its his college computer. Vista 32 bit on a Dell.
    thanks

Virus Scanning software comes to mind

What have you tried so far?
When you Googled the virus name did you find any manual removal intructions?

Try using Safe Mode to scan and clean. Use the Full System Scan option. Also, add Malwarebytes and Superantispyware , and do the same. Be sure all 3 are updated before scanning.

Did you try Safe Mode with Networking?

Safe Mode helps keeps the trojan from running at startup. If its not helping, when in Safe Mode have him right click the task bar and select Task Manager > Process Tab > look for "sysguard" or "Spyware Protect" or something similiar, then highlight+ End Task each suspected entry. Now he should be able to scan and clean . If you use Safe Mode with Networking you should be able to update. Do not open a browser until your scans are clean in Safe Mode. Use CCleaner or WinCleaner afterwards.
