download speeds
Ok guys. Since my freezing issue i posted earlier has been solved...i got another one for ya. In win 7 my download soeeds max out at 220 kb/s where my line is 620kb/s I have updated my ethernet drivers, disables win firewall. and now i am stumped.... any thoughts?
I have 64 bit win 7 ultimate

You normally won't download at the same speed to line is...
If there are 183 other people downloading the same file,,,it'll be slower..

I understand this. But even my providers dedicated speet test (which no one uses due to it being a diagnostics tool) shows way below. However I am thinking my router may be at fault.

A good test is to download XP SP3.

One with the router and the other without the router.
My transfer rate in about 500KB/Sec.

guess it helps to install router software and config it to output proper speeds...HEHEHEHE so now it works. 631kb/s

Should also mention that i had to do a firmware update since my router (WRT160N V3) still was using the orginal firmware from when it was released. Better support for Win 7
