Selling Windows Vista
About a year ago I build a PC and installed Windows Vista Home Premium on it. (Yes, I know...) I'm considering buying Windows 7 - probably the "home premium" version - as I can't see it being worse than Vista, but I was wondering how I can legally sell my full "clean install" Vista disc, license intact. Obviously, I would have to remove it from my PC, but do I need to do anything else to "de-register" it from my PC/my MAC address/my name?
Whether or not anyone would want to buy a copy of Vista is another matter...

As long as it hasn't been activated in the last 6 months (180 days), the new owner can use it.
I wouldn't hesitate to sell it.

Actually I just found this in the EULA:
18. TRANSFER TO A THIRD PARTY.
a. Software Other Than Windows Anytime Upgrade. The first user of the software may make a one time transfer of the software, and this agreement, directly to a third party. The first user must uninstall the software before transferring it separately from the device. The first user may not retain any copies.
It doesn't mention anything about six months, but I activated my copy almost a year ago anyway.

I have five or six sealed/never been used Retail Version copies of Ultimate. I should have tried to get rid of them a while back
Good luck....Odds are you'll only get 20 bucks if you're lucky.

Yeah, that sounds about right - I'll appreciate whatever I get!
